Cat5/6 Composite extenders

Composite Video is still widely used to broadcast TV quality images. Composite is normally distributed using Co-Axial cable. S.Y.Electronics has designed a complimentary Cat5/6 extender product for Composite video.

The nature of Composite Video also means that good quality video displays can be maintained over much longer lengths of Cat5/6 cable. In the case of the CatX Composite range, this means up to 600m. It also means that these units are even more cost effective compared with the CatX VGA and KVM extender range.

This makes uses Cat5/6 UTP cable, which is cheaper and easier to install than Co-axial cable. These products can also, therefore, make use of existing structured network cabling in the same way as our range of VGA and KVM extenders.

The range consists of the following products

CatX Composite Tx 4 - Single composite video/audio source, up to four Cat5/6 outputs

CatX Composite Lite Rx - Single Composite video/audio receiver up to 150m

CatX Composite Rx - Single Composite video/audio receiver with distance adjustment up to 600m

CatX Composite Tx 4

CatX Composite Tx 4 transmits a single Composite Video and audio source over Four Cat5/6 outputs and may be used in conjunction with any CatX Composite Lite Rx or CatX Composite Rx units.

The unit will transmit Composite video over Cat5/6 cabling up to 600m.

RCA input connectors for Video, left and right audio.

Ideal for use with CCTV.

This transmitter is compatible with both 150m and 600m receiver units.

CatX Composite Lite Rx

CatX Composite Lite Rx outputs a single Composite Video and audio source over Cat5/6 outputs and may be used in conjunction with the CatX Composite Tx 4 unit.

The unit will output Composite video over Cat5/6 cabling up to 150m.

RCA input connectors for Video, left and right audio.

The unit requires no external power source, the power is supplied from the attached CatX Composite Tx 4.

Ideal for use with CCTV.

This unit requires no adjustment over any length of Cat5/6 cable. The quality of video output is maintained over all distances.
